Richmond House now have a respite room suitable for:
- Short-term breaks
- Emergency Respite
- Step Up / Step Down Care
Short-Term Breaks
A planned break for the individual and the carer is sometimes needed. Individuals can book in advance of their break, knowing that their loved one will be well-looked after in Richmond House.
Emergency Respite
If care arrangements break down at home, Richmond House can provide emergency accommodation.
Step Up / Step Down Care
Step up care is an alternative support for someone who is unable to safely remain in their own home just now, but long-term residential care or a hospital admission is not immediately necessary. The service is for adults over the age of 65 where a GP or social work professional has identified that the current support measures which allow them to stay at home are not enough to remain there safely. The aim of the service is to ensure people can return home, with the necessary support, as soon as it is safe to do so. There is no charge to anyone who gets a place in a care home through step up care. Likewise, Individuals may be admitted from a hospital ("step down") for extra care to facilitate a safer return home and prevent early re-admission. This may be to finish a course of treatment, e.g. oral antibiotics, or while awaiting a care package to be put in place.
Fees and Funding
The respite room fee is £800 per week for Self-Funded Respite. This includes all care, services and laundry costs.
Your stay may be fully or partly-funded by the Local Authority, or if you are eligible for FPC/FNC/EMI payments, this will be deducted from the cost - if this is the case you should speak to the Manager regarding payments.
