Richmond House is a beautiful Victorian building with a sweeping drive up towards the house and away from the road. The home overlooks the picturesque market town of Crieff and offers accommodation for eighteen residents. All rooms have wash-hand basins and thirteen have en-suite facilities. Each room is fully furnished but residents are welcome to have their own furniture, pictures and other items to give the room a personal feel.
The home is surrounded by a large garden which is tended to by our gardener. We also have a multi-sensory reminiscence garden at the rear of the house for residents to enjoy - this garden is fully secure. Included in this garden is a winding path, decorated with a variety of items for interest; raised beds; a summer house and a potting shed for residents who are 'green fingered'. The garden has something for everyone. Our cooks also grow a range of herbs in the garden which are used to garnish home cooked meals.
The home was kindly donated to Crieff & District Nursing Association (later becoming Crieff & District Auxiliary Association and following this it is now known as "Richmond House, Crieff"). It has operated as a care home for older adults for the last 52 years.
Our home is unique in that we are a charity-based - run for the benefit of our residents, not for profit. We are a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) - more information on Richmond House's charitable status can be found on the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) website at www.oscr.org.uk
